- ➤ Oakland Grammy-nominee Kehlani said on Dec. 9 during Billboard’s No.1 livestream that Bad Bunny should perform his upcoming Super Bowl LX Halftime Show entirely in Spanish to honor his culture. He will perform at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Feb. 8 & her comments come amid debate over language use. San Francisco Chronicle

- ➤ CSU officials said nearly 10,000 more students enrolled this fall at 19 of 22 campuses. However, SFSU, Sonoma State and Cal State Los Angeles had fewer students, showing that recovery is uneven — new plans will try to improve enrollment. San Francisco Chronicle
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Marine geologist Chris Goldfinger (a Bay Area native) said a quake on the Cascadia fault may warn of a shock on the San Andreas fault. His study shows past quakes in Cascadia were followed by San Andreas tremors and that the link could give responders extra seconds to act. San Francisco Chronicle
- ➤ Eleven small earthquakes rattled the East Bay on Dec. 8 in San Ramon and Piedmont, with magnitudes mostly between 2.5 and 3.0. Seismologists said no larger quakes followed and officials urged residents to prepare with emergency kits and follow drop, cover and hold on guidance if shaking occurs. KTVU
