- ➤ California health officials warned residents on Saturday, Dec. 6 about 21 cases of amatoxin poisoning from death cap mushrooms in the Bay Area, including one fatality and several severe liver injuries. The advisory urges residents not to forage wild mushrooms as wet weather boosts their growth. KTVU
