- ➤ Bay Area hip hop legend Mistah F.A.B. held his annual turkey and food giveaway in Oakland on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Northside Supermarket—where 700 to 1,000 turkeys, produce, coats, blankets, socks, and toiletries were given away—in a collective effort with local community groups to help families in need. - ➤ 2 Star Market is hosting its 23rd community Thanksgiving at 2020 MacArthur Boulevard on Nov. 27 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.—the free event will serve over 1,000 guests with a meal featuring more than 100 turkeys and a variety of dishes while accepting donations to expand the tradition. - ➤ The city of Oakland is exploring a plan that could allow Costco to open at the former Oakland Army Base in West Oakland, as Councilmember Carroll Fife introduced a resolution for talks with Costco and Deca Companies. The proposal will be discussed by the Community and Economic Development Committee on Dec 9—if approved, city staff will start negotiations to spur local economic growth. KTVU

- ➤ Federal officials announced Tuesday that the Department of Education will review UC Berkeley’s safety policies and crime logs after a Turning Point USA event on Nov. 10 led to a violent altercation—campus leaders said there were no riots and that police from multiple agencies helped secure the area.
