  • Bay Area food banks have faced rising demand as SNAP benefits lapsed due to a government shutdown — the Redwood Empire Food Bank reported a 33% jump in daily support requests while Alameda County Community Food Bank launched pop-ups that served hundreds of households. Local agencies have expanded home delivery programs and increased food procurement to help those affected by delayed CalFresh benefits.  San Francisco Chronicle

CRIME NEWS
