- ➤ The 70-year-old Redwood Valley Railway steam train in Tilden Park is at risk if its operator does not secure a long-term lease with the park district—Ellen Thomsen said she will pick up everything and leave without an agreement. - ➤ The Oakland school board voted to have its general counsel negotiate a contract with Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates (a firm that has placed 76 superintendents in California) to lead a national search for a permanent OUSD superintendent. - ➤ O’Dowd High School offers hands-on science, math, and robotics classes that help students learn by working with experts from UC Berkeley & Lawrence Livermore National Lab. - ➤ Bay Area residents organized protests against federal agents, holding a press conference at San Francisco City Hall at noon and a march at Embarcadero Plaza on Thursday — events that have already taken place.
