- ➤ This week, Oakland will host an AI conversation at the Public Library tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. and a Musical Improv Festival running through Sunday along with the Diwali Festival on Friday that celebrates South Asian culture—additional events include a 5K run, dance theater performances, and concerts by Jacob Wendt and Mars Volta. - ➤ Murder By Death will play its final Bay Area show on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at the UC Theatre in Berkeley—ending a 25-year run after releasing their final album Egg & Dart. The indie-rock band has built a loyal following over the years and will close this chapter of its career. East Bay Express

- ➤ A rare albino fawn was seen grazing with its brown family in an East Bay park last week by wildlife photographer Matthew Raifman (he used a long-lens camera to capture the unique moment). - ➤ Eleven young Bay Area basketball players traveled this summer to Prague to build a global view — organized by nonprofits Elevated Legacy, Play Marin, and Marin County Cooperation Team. - ➤ The Women’s Professional Baseball League announced that one of its four teams for 2026 will play in San Francisco, joining teams in Los Angeles, New York, and Boston.
