- ➤ Colman Domingo has been cast as the Cowardly Lion in Wicked: For Good and will join a star-studded lineup that includes Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey. He announced his role on social media—his film will debut on November 21. San Francisco Chronicle

- ➤ California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced that after a two-year investigation, four plastic bag makers agreed to stop selling bags and pay over $1.7 million in penalties for mislabeling them as recyclable while a lawsuit is filed against three others. - ➤ Residents in Piedmont and Oakland voiced opposition to a housing plan approved by Piedmont City Council that calls for at least 132 residential units including 60 affordable ones on a site near Blair Park.
