- ➤ Residents in Oakland and San Jose protested Saturday to demand an Israel-Hamas ceasefire and the release of hostages as they pressed government leaders for stronger action. Protesters voiced their hope for a swift end to the conflict—evidencing rising local demand for peace. ABC7
- ➤ On Saturday afternoon, Congresswoman Lateefah Simon met with federal and county workers and union leaders in Oakland to discuss how the shutdown hurt working families—especially TSA employees at the airport who worked without pay.
