- ➤ A large group of protesters blocked the 7th Street offramp from northbound I-880 on Friday morning in Oakland, demanding that the city stop its arms shipment to Israel. The demonstrators supported the Global Sumud Flotilla carrying aid to Gaza. ABC7
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Oakland agreed to pay $7 million to cyclist Ty Whitehead, who was severely injured in 2017 when his bike hit a pothole during a charity ride, marking the largest settlement Oakland has paid for dangerous road conditions—Whitehead said the payout will help him recover and resume his regular activities. - ➤ On Friday, a panel featuring NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, 49ers owner Jed York+San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie discussed the projected economic benefits of Super Bowl LX, which will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Feb. 8, 2026. - ➤ Many Oakland shop owners have never heard of MACRO—an Oakland program that sends trained civilians to handle non-violent issues instead of involving the police.
