- ➤ Two sideshows in Oakland and Richmond drew hundreds early Sunday with a car set on fire at a CVS lot and a police union—led by Huy Nguyen—saying Oakland was short on patrol vehicles while no arrests or injuries were reported. KTVU

- ➤ POOR Magazine will screen the film Crushing Wheelchairs on Thursday, August28 at 8 p.m. outside the Self-Help Hunger Program at 61st and Adeline in Oakland—this film portrays the brutality of government sweeps on unhoused people using real accounts. Oakland Voices
- ➤ Irish rap trio Kneecap cancelled its 15 U.S. tour dates, including the Oakland show at Fox Theater on Oct. 28, due to a terror charge against rapper Mo Chara. The band said it will share something special for US fans next week and plans to return with a bigger tour when legal issues are resolved — performances in Canada will continue as scheduled.
