BUSINESS NEWS

  • Blue Bottle workers at four East Bay locations unionized yesterday after a 22 to 5 vote certified by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) amid protests over low wages, unsafe work conditions and inconsistent staffing. CULTURE NEWS

  • Oakland-born filmmaker Nijla Mu’mim talked with Oakland Voices about her new short film ‘Noor,’ a love story about a Black woman and a Palestinian man who find hope after a tragedy. SPORTS NEWS

  • Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga has faced months of contract uncertainty as his 2021 draft peers secured long-term, high-paying deals while he must choose between a two-year team-friendly offer up to $45 million or a one-year qualifying offer at $7.9 million. He is 22 and his role has shifted with injuries and limited minutes, so he will likely return to the team next season—adding risk to his future value as the Warriors focus on winning now.  San Francisco Chronicle
