CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police arrested Nadia Michelidaki on July 18th for allegedly arranging the murder in Athens of UC Berkeley professor Przemyslaw Jeziorski amid court documents that detailed her use of threats and financial coercion and noted that her partner, Christos Dounias (who confessed to shooting Jeziorski), assaulted him during custody exchanges. - ➤ San Leandro police reported that on July 17 a woman walking her two dogs with her boyfriend on East 14th and Williams streets was fatally shot during an altercation at around 11:00 p.m.—a 21-year-old suspect was later arrested in Dublin and police said the incident is not linked to a similar dog walking shooting last month. - ➤ Oakland police said parole agent Joshua Lemont Byrd, 40, was shot and killed at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation building on Edgewater Drive on Thursday just before 1 p.m.—officers later detained suspect Bryan Keith Hall, 48, who had been recently paroled. KTVU
