- ➤ Residents in Rockridge worked with the Oakland Department of Transportation to study speeding and craft a 29-page plan with ideas to slow traffic—OakDOT said it will test a 90-day diverter pilot to see if it can reduce dangerous speeds. - ➤ UC Berkeley marketing professor Przemyslaw Jeziorski was shot and killed outside his ex-wife's home near Athens while in Greece for a child custody hearing, and his family said he was murdered in cold blood (he was 43). ABC7
- ➤ On July 15th, a woman was fatally struck while crossing at Fruitvale Avenue and East 27th Street in East Oakland when a white pickup truck hit her and fled the scene—police later arrested the driver and said alcohol may have been a factor. KTVU
