HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A new Kaiser study finds that overweight or obese Asian and Pacific Islander teens are twice as likely as their white peers to have prediabetes, with rates ranging from 18% among Vietnamese youths to 32% among Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander youths. The research — which analyzed data from about 38,000 adolescents from Kaiser Permanente Northern California — suggests that high-risk groups may need earlier screening to help prevent diabetes.
