- ➤ Wellpath, which provides health care at Santa Rita Jail, will pay $2.3 million to settle a wrongful death lawsuit over Maurice Monk's death—he died on Nov. 15th, 2021 after deputies and staff dropped food and medicine into his cell—while officials face calls for improved inmate care. - ➤ Bay Area audiences will see over 100 African American quilts in the Routed West exhibition at BAMPFA in Berkeley, which opens June 8 and features works from quilters who migrated during the Second Great Migration.
