- ➤ Morgan Freeman will bring his Symphonic Blues Experience to the Bay Area when he leads a show at Davies Symphony Hall on July 25— the first of 13 events featuring Delta Blues music by artists from Clarksdale. Other stops include Stanford’s Bing Auditorium on November 19, the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto on November 21 and Sonoma State University’s Green Music Center on November 22 with tickets ranging from $79 to $300. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The research vessel sank on May 25 in the Oakland Estuary and divers found a sheen from motor oil that likely came from a container on board; two accessible fuel tanks were checked and found empty while three tanks may still hold up to 400 gallons of diesel. Ocean Voyages Institute said they will address environmental concerns and plan to salvage the vessel once cleanup is complete — local agencies have already deployed booms — as the investigation continues.
