- ➤ On May 22, 2025, a fire swept through a three-story apartment building on the 3000 block of Capp Street in Oakland, displacing 20 residents and leading firefighters to rescue a father and his baby from a top-floor unit by ladder—one person with a leg injury was taken to a hospital as the cause remains under investigation. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Oakland police said a person was fatally shot on International Boulevard Friday afternoon when officers arrived at about 1:15 p.m. in response to reports of multiple gunshots near the 90th Avenue intersection — homicide detectives are investigating the incident. KTVU
- ➤ Drea Avaloz was shot in her left leg near the Fox Theater on May 11 when eight to 12 gunshots were fired from a car in Uptown Oakland—police are still investigating the case with no arrests made so far. KTVU
