  • Authorities investigated a reported firearm incident on a Tempo Line 1T bus that occurred around 4 p.m. on Friday near East 12th Street and 11th Avenue in Oakland—Alameda County sheriff’s deputies and transit officials interviewed witnesses and took the bus out of service.  KTVU

  • Yesterday, Oakland School for the Arts held its annual fashion show at Sweets Ballroom on Broadway, where high school students showed skills in design, styling and production—an event that took a year to plan. The show brought together local family, friends and fashion professionals to celebrate emerging talent.  KTVU

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A fire at the Valero refinery earlier this week and planned closures have raised gas prices in California well above the national average. Experts say extra taxes, tariffs and other fees may push prices as high as $8 per gallon in the near future—adding strain on local drivers.  KTVU

  • Officials from the East Bay Regional Park District warned visitors on May 10th that rattlesnakes are returning as spring weather warms, with hikers at Briones Regional Park reporting sightings. The district advises hikers, runners, and dog owners to stay on trails and avoid tall grass — if bitten, call 911 immediately.  KTVU
