Howard Solomon, the former director of East Oakland Boxing Association, pleaded guilty in federal court to stealing over $549,000 — including a $50,000 donation from Steph Curry — for his personal expenses over several years.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced the arrest of three people accused of running an identity theft scheme—allegedly opening illegal credit accounts after stealing identities from 13 individuals to fraudulently obtain over $100,000 in merchandise from retailers across Alameda, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties and Southern California.

Bay Area players shone in the NFL draft as Cal cornerback Nohl Williams, an All-American leader with seven interceptions, was chosen in the third round by the Kansas City Chiefs and Stanford wide receiver Elic Ayomanor was selected in the fourth round by the Tennessee Titans—other local players also joined NFL teams.

Former Cal rugby player Robert Paylor, who suffered a spinal cord injury nearly eight years ago, can now walk 400 yards and works to inspire others to overcome tough challenges — he will also release his book 'Paralyzed to Powerful' on the anniversary of his injury.
