- ➤ Jaji is a new Uptown Oakland restaurant that opened in January and serves Afghan classics with modern twists in decor and menu. Owner Sophia Akbar said the restaurant features handcrafted fabric art and a full bar with a cocktail lounge—BakBar—that will debut later this year. The Oaklandside
- ➤ Peralta Hacienda Historical Park lost a $250,000 federal grant from DOGE effective April 8 and had its city funding cut weeks earlier, leaving the museum over $270,000 short for its educational field trips.
