CULTURE NEWS

  • Teatro Jornalero—a local immigrant theater group made up mostly of undocumented members—has halted live shows amid fears of deportation and will share its stories via video until conditions allow safe stage performances.  ABC7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Former Oakland City Councilmember Loren Taylor conceded to former Congresswoman Barbara Lee in the mayoral race after he called her to congratulate her—vote counts showed Lee with 52% and Taylor with 47% as about 300 mail-in ballots were being checked. Lee is set to become Oakland's first Black female mayor if the results hold.  ABC7

SPORTS NEWS

  • After Tuesday’s play-in win gave the Warriors a four-day break, coach Steve Kerr said the team used extra practice at Chase Center and in Houston to prepare for the playoffs. The Warriors are set for a best-of-seven series against the Rockets that begins today at Toyota Center — they hope the rest will give them a strong start.  San Francisco Chronicle
