GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Oakland chief of staff Leigh Hanson faced backlash after a handwritten note from March 2024 appeared to use 'tokens' when recording recall tactics and comments made by former mayor Sheng Thao, and Hanson said she was noting what was said. She clarified the note used 'BP' for Black people while Mayor Kevin Jenkins did not comment—Hanson remains chief of staff amid ongoing city financial and project issues. San Francisco Chronicle
