- ➤ Chevron announced it will cut 600 jobs at its San Ramon headquarters and 700 jobs in Houston through the rest of this year with layoffs set to begin on June 1. The company said the reduction is part of a plan to simplify its operations and boost long-term competitiveness. KTVU

- ➤ Two groups of Oakland residents are suing the airport because a deal reached on March 18 between Alameda officials, a local residents group and the Port of Oakland moves flight traffic away from Alameda but increases noise and fumes over East Oakland.
