- ➤ On March 25th, Michelle Perez was injured in an East Oakland crash when an alleged drunk driver hit her car at 105th Ave and Pearmain Street after CHP ended a chase—she said police should not chase traffic violators and the incident left her with four fractured ribs, a broken pelvis, and one child injured. - ➤ At a Tuesday hearing at Oakland Superior Court, 24-year-old Hermelindo Ramos-Ramos admitted to firing his handgun at Mario Juarez—an important witness in the federal corruption case against former Mayor Sheng Thao and others—after he said he saw Juarez's open car trunk while returning from playing soccer and mistakenly believed he was threatened.
