  • Chef Matt Horn said his Old Oakland Horn Barbecue at 464 Eighth St. now offers an expanded menu, drink specials and live music to attract more customers as he plans to expand hours soon.   • A Bay Area woman filed an amended lawsuit alleging that rapper Sean Diddy Combs—currently held in federal detention on sex-trafficking charges—and others, including NFL player Odell Beckham Jr. and comedian Druski, gang-raped her in Orinda in 2018, with the accused denying the claims.  KTVU

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Residents and environmental officials met Thursday in the yellow room at Youth UpRising to talk about reducing harmful fugitive dust and airport emissions in East Oakland. The community emissions reduction plan—developed under state law AB 617—is set to guide air monitoring soon with a draft expected in a couple of months and implementation beginning in 2026.  The Oaklandside

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • AC Transit will raise cash fares for adult riders this summer as the board approved an increase from $2.50 to $2.75 on local rides and from $6 to $6.50 on transbay trips beginning July 1. A second phase on July 1, 2026 will raise the local fare from $2.75 to $3—steps taken to address rising operation costs and a budget shortfall.  KTVU
  • About 40 residents at an Oakland Rockridge senior living community staged a walk-in protest on Saturday morning along Broadway—voiceing concern over potential Social Security cuts and standing up to protect their benefits.  The Oaklandside

  • Bay Area homeowners held onto their homes for nearly 20 years (San Francisco at 17 years and San Jose at 18 years) compared to a decade ago according to Redfin data. The state’s Prop 13 law has kept many owners from moving (limiting options for young buyers).  San Francisco Chronicle

  • The Oakland Roots will host their home opener against San Antonio FC on March 22 at the Coliseum with over 20,000 tickets sold and tailgating set to begin two hours before kickoff.
