Oakland celebrated the reopening of the Henry J.
Kaiser Center for the Arts on Saturday, Jan. 25 after a $100M makeover (it had been closed nearly 20 years). Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee led the ribbon cutting, and local storyteller Don Reed with an illusionist entertained guests.

Three days ago, Giants outfielder Jung Hoo Lee was held (for four hours) at LAX over a paperwork issue; he joined the FanFest in San Ramon on Saturday.
He said delay was resolved with agency help and he will join South Korea’s World Baseball Classic team if his country advances.
Golden State Warriors fans will enjoy the NBA All-Star Game's new format featuring three eight-man teams.
Stephen Curry is confirmed as a starter, and 14 more players will be announced on Sunday at 3 p.m. for the game on Feb. 15 at the Clippers’ new Intuit Dome.
