  • Oakland will host the NFL’s official watch party at the Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts on Sunday as part of Super Bowl festivities. Organizers will offer 1,400 free tickets on a first-come — first-served basis and expect the event to boost local hotels and restaurants.  ABC7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • AC Transit will update its bus schedule on Feb. 1, adding a stop at Skyline High School and extra trips to the airport to ease overcrowding (affecting Lines 73, F, and O). The agency also adjusts weekend service on Line 281 and reduces daily trips on the 19 Line.  The Oaklandside
  • Officials released new data showing that BART outages on May 9 and Sept. 5 caused heavy gridlock on the Bay Bridge — delays reached up to 12 minutes on Oakland freeways as commuters switched to cars; experts warn that future service cuts could further worsen traffic congestion.  San Francisco Chronicle
  • Hundreds of Oakland residents gathered Monday night at Allen Temple Baptist Church (in East Oakland) to demand stronger measures against illegal dumping, labeling it a health crisis.
