  • PG&E is lowering electric and natural gas rates today after completing safety + reliability projects, saving average customers roughly $7 per month on electricity and $4 on gas with rates falling 11% since January 2024.  KTVU
  • Flipcause’s press release rebrands its Chapter 11 case as a restructuring and leaves out key debt details to nonprofits. The company will sell its assets at an auction on March 3 & a lead bidder is expected by Feb. 4 to secure the deal.  Oakland Voices

  • Olivia Coffee and Flower in Oakland now brews co-fermented coffee bursting with fruity flavors like strawberry and blueberry, as additional local cafes add experiments with fruit-infused beans.   • New insurance laws for homeowners take effect today — a state wildfire risk model will check secret insurer calculations and two non-voting legislators join the FAIR Plan board — while insurers now must pay 60% of personal property limits without itemized lists and extend wildfire protections to local businesses.  KTVU

HEALTH NEWS

  • Starting today, Medi-Cal will no longer cover GLP-1 drugs prescribed solely for weight loss, potentially affecting over 600,000 patients; coverage remains for those with diabetes, heart disease, or kidney disease (savings of up to $85 million this fiscal year are expected).  SFGate
